Another non-stripping stripper

I don't really care if young actresses want to play strippers, but if they insist on doing it, they ought to do it RIGHT. If you're going to be employed in a strip club, you have to at least be willing to take your top off, and the exact same thing should be true of an actress who insists on PLAYING a stripper. I'm sorry but Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Aniston, Lindsey Lohan, Natalie Portman, ad infinitum are not so cute they would be able to work at a strip club and get to keep their bras on.

This isn't about some adolescent need to see Vanessa Hudgens naked (try "Spring Breakers" or whatever nude photos she has leaked on the internet). People always complain about "gratuitous nudity" where they throw in nude scenes that aren't necessary to the plot. But what about gratuitous NON-nudity where the nudity IS necessary to the plot, but they leave it out because an actress with a "no-nudity" clause insists on taking the role? If you want to criticize the "Mr. Skin" mentality of American males, you also ought to criticize the "I-insist-on-playing-a-stripper-but-I-don't-do-nudity-because-I-want-to-be-taken-seriously-as-an-actress" mentality of a lot of American actresses these days.

Yes.

so sadd, you not able to see tits and pussy in real life?

I think you miss the point. Just as gratuitous nudity can take away from the plot or flow of a movie, the same can be said for gratuitous non nudity. Most movies don't need a scene in the shower or in a strip club, but if the movie is about a stripper it probably does.

In a way you are correct, but your point - in this particular movie - is void.
Cindy is a prostitute, not a stripper. She only goes up on the 'stage' once in the film, and for all we know she would have bared it all (especially seeing as she is high on crystal meth), but her act is cut short by her pimp sort of scaring her away.

Strippers in clubs start out dressed. Sometimes fully dressed. That's why it's called stripping and not nude dancing. If you want to see strippers strip then go to a strip club. This film isn't about stripping. Please don't come on here sermonising about the artistic need to see strippers nude when it isn't even vaguely relevant to the plot of this film. Had this film been about stripping, you would have a valid point, but it isn't and you don't. Your post is solely about you wanting to get tailor-made porn in mainstream films. This is not 1956; men no longer get to demand that women give them sex when they ask for it. Both sexes are watching this film, and the adults are watching it for the story not the porn. Grow up and get a credit card.

Have to pretty much agree with OP, I really took issue with Sin City and now it's sequel having Jessica as a stripper and since it's Jessica, she will never strip. Now that Scarlett has bared the goods in Under The Skin, they would have been better off offering her the role in the new Sin City film. Although word has it that Jessica's prego pics on the web are genuine, she isn't comfortable with nudity and I'm totally fine with that. The role however requires something more genuine than what we saw. Just my opinion.

The clue is in the job title. They aren't naked for the entire time they're on stage, so if the filmmakers want to say 'this scene takes place before she removes her bra' I'm fine with that. I'd sooner object to women keeping their bras on while having sex or magical duvets that cover genitalia and female nipples and at all times.
