Triple Threat Match

The final fight was epic between Jin vs. Kazuya vs. Heihachi. Probably the best three way battle I've ever seen. They all performed most of their signature moves from the game in the beginning to end. If the story doesn't please you, then the final fight will.

I'm just about to watch it, thought to come by IMDB and see if there are any posts about it. Just one? Sad. Hope it's as epic as i expect, and as u make it sound.

SPOILERS YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

I'm disappointed kaz got owned twice though, once by heihachi and then by devil jin. I'd have thought Devil Kaz to be at least on equal footing with Devil Jin.

Also that Majin Heihachi was pretty cool, but pretty much came from nowhere. I mean, utilizing the Mokujin spirits? What?

reply

All the devils look weird. I prefer the in game devils

reply

I agree. I like the game devil looks in the game.
It got pretty dragonball Z'ish during the devil fight.

reply

Agreed.
I was waiting for both Kazuya and Jin to turn and when they did I was like - wtf?
Had the movie had totally different characters there still would have been no mistaking it was a japanese movie.
I overall liked it, with some really high peaks - but it also felt like a really long cutscene.
And even though I tend to love japanese character-design(Tekken especially)
when they go supernatural in any way, they tend to go over the top.
They have yet to learn that less is more.
At first I thought Jin was turning into True Ogre or something, but he ended up something that looked like an Angel/Demon-Summon from FinalFantasy(the wings reminded me of Bahamut from FFX)
I would have been happier with simpler Devil-Kazuya, and winged/horned/clawed-Jin

And I feel as a long time fan that Kazuya didn't get to shine enough(and absolutely hate the fact that IMO the live-action movie(which mostly sucked..big time)switched the personalities of Kazuya and Heihachi.

There's a bit clearance on both Devils. Though as stated, the movie is set between Tekken 5 and 6.

It was the only good part in this whole bloody movie..

that 3 way battle gets 9 out of 10 from me its not 10 out of 10 due to the fact i wanted more and thats the only reason, never really cared for the devil stuff but understand its part of the game so roll with it, now of they bring paul phoenix, law, and a few others into the mix for a next one, i hope they do it soon!

reply

Fingers crossed that they do. The animation is definitely a lot better then the live action one that's all I got to say.

reply

and the characters are flawless, thats what i hate about live action is when you gotta figure out what character the actor is supposed to be, if heihachi dont look like heihachi then it puts me off, i tried to watch the tekken live action but for that reason alone i turned it off after about half an hour, the live action film characters always look cheap, streetfighter the movie is a prime example from 1994, sagat looked like he'd lost weight bison looked ill lol, the best live action character for me has to be angelina jolie as tomb raider they got it spot on even if the films werent all that.

reply

I think the only two that passes in the live action of Tekken is Cary Tagawa as Heihachi and Lateef Crowder as Eddie Gordo. Everyone else totally looked noting like the characters from the game. And I feel bad for the actress who plays as Anna because she barely got to say anything in the movie.
