Bucharest is not Tiranna and romanian is not albanian

I have nothing against Albania or its people but...Hollywood, get you s*t together. They even had Bashkin's wife speaking romanian :) the name may be albanian but the language was romanian.

reply

Uh, did you watch the movie? They said she was romanian. I guess they are just romanians living in Albania.

reply

Yeah dude...there are so many romanians living in Albania... they should call it Rolbania

reply

When did they say she was romanian? They just say she is his wife, nothing more.
Just another example of Hollywood "professionalism", they don`t even bother to make sure albanians speak albanian, they could even use goddamn google translate, but hey, americans can`t tell the difference between those 2 languages so why bother? Well, because that`s real professionalism.

Cacati de americani ignoranti, la ce te asteptai?...Serbia, Cehia, Romania, Albania..."Tomeito", "Tomato"...e acelasi cacat pentru ei.

who cares

reply

Viewers should. "Hollywood" movies are sold in Europe...so the writers/producers/directors should do their fu*cking research. Its not that hard...u have google...da fuq

reply

instead they prefer to choose movie studios in buftea to pay less and name as another place instead of paying millions plus taxes in usa or any other big europe country

buftea is approximately 20 min driving to bucharest so actors can still stay in a mariott or hilton or any other 5* hotel.

as long as it is cheaper and noone in the states really care about where the movie actually shot, it will be like that.

i saw many movies had been shot in bucharest and named as michigan or sth

Good point. I have a friend who is a location scout for big films and they often use other locations for the "real " location, simply to save money. Montreal has been used as a film location for NYC, for example, and with a few props, it's pretty easy to pass off one location for another. Tax breaks and various incentives are other reasons that Hollywood and many other American productions use foreign locations that aren't necessarily what is portrayed in the story line. That guy needs to lighten up a bit!

It's normal for films to be made in different countries than the one they are set in. They don't think it is Albania, they are just using Romania to pretend to be Albania.

I live in Prague and it is often used in Films to be Paris, Vienna, German cities, anywhere in Europe.

As i've been to both countries, it was very obvious immediately that it was Romania and not Albania.

reply

Not to say that when they arrive in so called Tirana, on the background you can see an image of The House of People in Bucharest. Hilarious...NOT

reply

I was suprised as well I am albanian from Tirana and i was watching the film when they arrive is a panoramic shoot of the city and bottom text "Tirana, Albania" i was like "Oh cool i am from Tirana but...wait....wtf is that" lol

Apparently they shoot it in Bucharest mostly to make the joke.I remember when they came here for shooting locations and decided to not shoot here because Tirana was too good and the joke wouldn't work When Bradley Cooper say 'Albania is beatiful place" and then it cuts to like slum *beep* grey buildings and in Tirana old *beep* socialist buldings are almost all gone and we now don't have a lot of slum neighborhoods.Tirana is very clean and green city and Hollywood likes exaggerate so they choose Bucharest because (no offense to romanians) is a bit worst and slummier. I was upset cuz they represented us bad

reply

And Romania is a lot more cheaper
