Paul should have a bigger part in the final movie

Paul had a rather brief but strong appearance in this movie, just like Mick had done in the original.
I think for the next they should focus more on him overcoming his insanity and perhaps being tracked down by the victim from the first movie.
There would be an irony: the fact that Mick allowed him to escape would be his downfall.

There's some real truth to this as well - a lot of serial killers, by the time they've killed say 20-30 people, they get very careless about their work, and those kinda mistakes are what help to incriminate them.
John Gacy for instance was captured when he decided to kill a boy that was well loved by his family and well regarded by his peers - which prompted a more thorough investigation by the police.

I actually could see a 3rd starting with him in the mental asylum. I could also see the original survivor from Wolf Creek 1 tracking down Paul after hearing about new murders.

I don't think Paul is even "insane" persay. I think he's just too scared. If you pay attention by the time the old couple came into the picture Paul was already having nightmares about Mick. This guys was so scared of Mick he didn't even want to follow the old couple to the car he says "I can't". When he first woke up tied up he was practically having a panic attack over what he was seeing.

It's my opinion that Paul checked himself in the asylum. I don't think he's really crazy I just think Mick scared him so bad that he's now paranoid and just cannot be alone, he still thinks Mick will come for him.

If anything that's how a third would start. I could see the original survivor playing a part in helping him overcome his fear and they both go kill Mick who is probably torturing new tourist.

I doubt the original survivor will return though. The first film came out years ago and the actor who played the guy is probably off doing his own thing. There's a better chance of just Paul returning.

Depends if Corr is busy or not. Wolf Creek was good for him, even with the drug issue last year he's getting a lot of roles in high budget features now.

This was one of the first times I really rooted for the main "victim" to get killed lol, so I really hope not. I really couldn't stand the character (mostly because he was such a coward in every scene). The German guy who went toe to to with Mick should have lived to fight another day instead of the main guy. Yes, when someone who obviously has skill is trying to kill you, you run. But there comes a point when you fight back. Yes. I remember the hammer part, but long before that. He could have grabbed a knife and stabbed Mick in the back when he was walking down the hallway to shoot the old lady. There were a number of times he had openings, but just did his screaming and whimpering and ran.

Sorry I went on a bit long lol, I really hated his character.

There are maybe five beings I hope I never have to fight and J'onn Jonzz is one of them. - Superman

I hope they at least bring more variety to Mick's character in the new series. Whether it's the writers that don't have much imagination or if John Jarratt isn't capable of acting better, the character is very 1-dimensional, like Jack Nicholson in The Shining.
It might have been effective in the 1st movie, but it has gotten very boring now.

Agree completely. His character was a refreshing change and he needs to take on mick once more.
