Gave this 'the benefit of the doubt' . . .

. . .and regretted it.

GAWD! How tedious was this? Jesse Stone: The Cop that Makes You Want to Blow Your Brains Out! Magnum had his moments of loathing, but was always still upbeat.

Every installment in this series is the same thing over and over again. Paced slow with redundant dialogue. Everytime he said "the benefit of the doubt" you expected all the characters to turn and look at the camera.

And didn't get old with, "I thought you didn't like him . . ."

The only thing missing from this one was the sexy nun.

I did like the dog, though. There have never been enough golden retrievers on TV.

Yes, this is the worst so far. Tom Selleck needs to give up writing and let the scriptwriters and crime novelists do the writing.

I started to join in to Jesse's response to the "I thought you didn't like him line." Dialogue in the series does become a bit too repetitive in this one and 'Innocents Lost.' "I'm fond of you Jesse" and 'coply' intuition gets spoken quite a lot as well. A good line they seemed to have dropped from early in the series is "That's a shrink question." I liked that line.

Sadly this is Reggie's last appearance as Jesse's golden retriever. Joe the dog who played Reggie died a year after this was made. I thought Reggie looked white around the gills in this one. So he must have been getting a bit old by this movie. Shame. I love to see him in the series.
