So do you REALLY think they could have just walked out like that?

If I was in Iris position I so would have shot Lucas too. Not only because he might shoot me but also because not for one second would I have believed that I could just walk out with no consequences. I would have been sure that they would have killed me. I mean the police would be told and even if they were in it as well one could just go to the media and they would do some research and digging and everything might come out. No way in hell they would have just let them walk out! The host had been super-unfair before. Amy did not even get the chance to survive, she was pushed into the barrel at a fatal moment. And the second game was way more dangerous for Travis than for anyone else, he really did not have the same chances.
I totally would have shot Lucas, not for the money but just so that I survive.

But they did let Iris walk out. I suppose the case could be made that they figured Iris wouldn't go to the police since she shot Lucas and might put herself in jeopardy. But if they didn't want to take any chances as you suggest, they would have killed Iris whether she shot Lucas or not.

But I would just hope for that to happen. That they woulod let me walk out. It´s the best shot I would have at surviving.

It's a bit unclear to me what they would have done if they both chose to just walk out. Surely they would have no incentive not to go to the police. I'm sure that (along with really wanting to save her brother)was the reason she shot him. I'm really not sure if he would have shot her though. He seemed very protective over her throughout the ordeal (Over everyone really except for the crazy Amy girl).

Threats against them and family.

Basically "If the police come here asking questions or if I am arrested, I have people in place with files on you and your family and they will torture you for days and then kill you."

There's your incentive not to say anything.

That was a weak point in the "game." Offering them nothing but their lives to walk away would not give Mr. Lambrick any leverage over them. They would go straight to the cops. So, you are right, he'd have to kill them.

Instead, he should offer them $50,000 now and then payments of $10k a year for life to walk away.

But, as we and Iris realized, walking away for free was not a survivable option.

I would have shot Lambrick. The odds were huge that he was going to kill the winner anyway, so I might as well get in my last licks.

You forgot one thing though. Bevins and the father still have guns and what's to say the gun only had one bullet in it when iris got it?

reply

I think they got that though. They're saying, you could assume that if she chose to walk out with Lucas that they would both be killed. That's what I would be thinking if I was in that situation, because there's nothing stopping me from going to the police short of death. So, shoot Mr. Lambrick, so he will at least be seriously seriously injured before the staff kills you.

reply

I probably would've shot as well, because Lambrick did say that this game "could" come to an end at the very first round. What does that mean? Shooting the other guy. That's the end. Choosing the "let's walk out together" option would've probably resulted in Lambrick asking the other person the same question. Of course here comes into play how much you trust the other person.

Not only because he might shoot me

That wasn't a possibility. Remember, the rules specifically say that whatever you choose, you must follow through with. Meaning if Iris chose to end the game and walk out, she has to do that. The game is over. Lucas wouldn't have the opportunity to shoot.
