Amy was a wasted character

Amy was the only contestant who understood the game and the need to be a bad guy in order to win. Stabbing Iris was her big moment and then from then on she did nothing until she died. Having seen the horrible choices all the other cards were she wouldn't have picked her own card. That was just stupid. She would have taken her chances with the barrel. She was written poorly. She should have been the one who won.

Agreed that she was a "wasted character," but I took her for a gambler, unlike Iris. I think choosing to open the envelope fit her character. Indeed she understood the game, so she continued with her choice. What happened to her was very unfortunate.

I think her sole purpose was to illiterate that teaming up won't help you. That and being a wicked bitch. It's one thing to understand that it's every man for himself, it's another thing to actually relish in someone else's pain. You see her sadistic smirk when Cal electrocuted himself instead of her? Ugh.

I don't agree with you or the OP--or Amy for that matter--because everyone understood the game. They all understood that Lambrick would kill them and they were playing an elimination game, but they chose to act human anyway. It was Amy who couldn't understand the reasons for the others' choices--Lambrick had chosen to be an evil prick, but the rest didn't have to.

I'm honestly surprised that Amy didn't stab Iris in the heart. Lambrick said, "Anywhere below the shoulders." Amy could've easily eliminated a contestant entirely instead of impairing one...though I honestly would've thought she'd have the smarts to go for a more obvious threat to her winning the game, such as Lucas.

She only picked the envelope because her daughter had drowned. That's why she "gambled"

reply

Also wasted by letting Sasha Grey play her.

reply

I agree. I think more could have been done with the character. The actress was kinda plain too, though she had very little to work with in the first place. The disclosure of her past was actually interesting, wish they had continued that thread for a few lines of dialogue at least.

I don't know exactly how to describe Sasha Grey, but "plain" is probably not the word I'd choose.

reply

She didn't have much of a character because she is such a horrific actor they probably kept her character as quite as possible. Man she was bad.

SO then I beg the question,, why hire her?

I love !

reply

She had to be a relative of one of the producers.

reply

She got parts in other things also and she was horrible in those as well. The fortunate thing is that your portfolio defines you in hollywood and so far her performances in these parts are not yielding her more parts.

I'm all for people making a change in their lives, but come on, put in the work to make that change. You can tell that she hasn't gotten much better at acting than she did in her porn movies, and yes I have seen her porn movies!
