The UK version would have been much shorter

"Doctor, I can't afford my brothers treatment costs"

"Treatment costs? What treatment costs?"

Spoiler alert

Ending would have been the same though except brother would have died waiting for operation

Was thinking the same thing- he would have died of old age before he was seen!!

Perfect response from two idiots whose only knowledge of healthcare comes from dumb myths fed to them by Fox News.

A misconception brought on by a lack of inactive brain matter and regurgitated Fox News. The National Health Service is a such a success that the likes of Margaret Thatcher kept her hands off of it.

reply

Well it depends if the treatment is NHS funded, which they aren't all.

I'm wondering what was exactly wrong with him anyway? I mean he kind of looked like he had some form of cancer (he seemed as if his hair had fallen out and he was wearing a head scarf or something).

Then they said he needed a transplant. I mean I guess he could've had cancer in a particular origin but I would think if they waited too long that it would've spread beyond that one part (that's what happened with my mom anyway).

Of course they was probably why she was so desperate and why the arrangements were being made so fast.

I don't know it seemed intentionally vague like he was dying of plot device. :)
