Unfair instructions

The dr only has to cut one eye but iris would have all her teeth pulled??

reply

The point of that round was known vs unknown. It would have been too easy if all the tasks were of the same caliber; seeing the result of Peter's turn would then easily sway all the others away from their envelops. Lambrick actually stated that some are not as bad as others.

reply

He didn't just say that some punishments were worse than others. He said that some were relatively mild. That was just a lie plain and simple.

reply

Depends on what was meant by mild. Yeah, they were painful but you can live without your teeth and, if you win, you can afford a really great set of false teeth or even dental implants. It would just be painful for that time but not life threatening. Certainly not AS life threatening as the quarter stick but more painful than the eye thing (or maybe not, I wear contact lenses and given how much an eyelash under the lens feels I can only imagine what cutting your eye would be like).

The only ones that were out and out deadly were the quarter stick and the four minutes underwater.

Hers should have something easy like " stand on one leg for 30 seconds" or "receive a Chinese burn". Then the irony of nearly drowning in a bucket of water would have been kinda funny

reply

Can you imagine unfairness in a game like this?!? That's why sportsmanship is going right down the toilet, I tell ya!

When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?

reply

I agree with the original poster. The rules in this game did matter. The host for the event was a stickler for the rules and spoke frequently of the integrity he felt for the annual event. When he said that some cards were very dangerous and other cards were relatively harmless, he was clearly lying. Every card was extremely dangerous. This was inconsistent with what we would expect from his character or the game.

reply

not to mention the fact that one character was to hold a "firecracker" & was given an M-80.

reply

To be fair, it depends on your definition of what's worse. Personally I'd want the teeth card because anything to do with eyes is a fear (or a gross out factor) for me. It'd be easier to let someone else yank out my teeth than cut my own eye.

But yeah, he did say some were mild and they really weren't. So he lied. Which did go against the integrity he so loved about the game.

That's assuming he only has four cards in total and that he knows who's getting what.

He had a lot of guests early on. I'm sure he had plenty of cards made up just in case they all make it to the barrel round.

He may have been vague and cryptic throughout, but I don't believe he ever actually lied about anything.

You are sin.

You have a point there, I'll give you that. I guess if he said that some "may" be mild would have made more sense. Though then they wouldn't have had as much of a feeling of hope.
