Lolita.

Limit of the Willing Suspension of Disbelief: directly proportional to its awesomeness.

You can have two movies with similar plot lines. If that were prohibited we'd have no movies after the 50's.

Lolita is about a 40ish year old man obsessed with young girls, focusing on a particular 12 year old, going so far as marrying her mother to be closer to her. (It's been a while but I'm pretty sure, at one point, he even fantasized about impregnating her, with the hopes of having a daughter to move on to when Lolita no longer held his interests.)

Breathe In is about a 40ish year old man who feels he has no control and is trapped in a life he doesn't want, finding a kindred soul, an 18 year old with similar interests, who listens to him and supports his ideas.

Other then the approximate age of the lead male, I see nothing similar between the two. And if you do, you need help.

There are many other movies with similar plots, but LOLITA isn't one of them.

It's not COMPLETELY different, but it's hardly the same movie. Perhaps you (the OP) should watch "Lolita" gain or maybe read the book. . .
