every character had a flaw but

I thought this movie was able to make me feel sympathetic for every character, even though they were all pathetic. I mean, every person is flawed. The daughter being clingy to her one night stand, the morals of the father and sophie, and the mother who (obviously for good intention) never considers what her husband wants.

It shows the destruction that sometimes happen to families and how every persons action effects one another...
