Movie or Film Issue?

I saw this at a theater in Delaware and there was an issue. About 20-25% of the time during the stand-up portion of the film, Hart's top part of his head was cut off. Whenever they did a full body shot, we couldn't see anything above his nose. I asked for the manager about a third of the way through the movie and since he never came and the movie was never fixed, I asked for him when we left.

He went on to tell me that the film was shot that way. Given that this was in the smallest and seemingly oldest theater, I felt that the problem was more than likely with his print or the way it was projected. In addition, there was severe overrun where it looked like the bottom 10% of the film was below the screen.

Since the manager was so insistent about the print, I thought I would ask and see if anyone else noticed this issue at their viewing? Let me know since my curiosity has been raised. The omission was significant enough that you should have noticed it and if not, let me know as well. It would be a shame if this was really shot this way since it detracts from a film that is about connecting with Kevin Hart's performance.

Thanks!

i'm not sure either but when me and my bestie went to go see this movie, his whole middle half was cut off so all we saw was chest and face and a lot of black space until someone got the manager to fix the problem.

How much of the opening credits did you see? At my AMC they were almost cut off at the bottom of the screen and never did I think the picture was off.

It was like that when I saw it. I think it's a projection issue. The top of his head was cut.

Thanks. We're trying to get a Blu-ray ready hopefully by Christmas 2012 of some movies.

Projection issue. When I saw the film, it was framed properly.

I once saw "Chicago" misframed as you describe.
