He is no King of Comedy but it was funny

what did you all think?

As you said, he's no 'King Of Comedy' but the man is funny! Thought that the movie was pretty funny, also.

For some, if this is your first time seeing Kevin doing his stand-up outside of his movie roles, you might not find it as funny. But if you have seen one or even two of his stand-up specials and found him hilarious, then you should be just fine with his style of comedy.

Hated the bank scene! Other than that...I love his stand-up!

You're right. He's still got a ways to go before he can be considered a King of Comedy but the stand-up portion was funny. I laughed through the majority of it but as usual for many black comics, he went the worn-out route of telling the raunchy sex jokes (which also became a low point during the All Star Jam Weekend Vol 1 disc which he also headlined) which shows a lack of imagination and a penchant for cheap and easy laughs. The ending was also weak. He should have ended on a stronger anecdote. It was still enjoyable. Better than watching Katt Williams.

I feel the same way. That's why I like Cedric the entertainer. He doesn't have to use vulgarity to get a laugh. That's real talent, if you are able to make people laugh without all of the explicit dialog.

The stand up was the best part. Everything else could have been cut out especially the bank stuff. It was very anti-climatic.

I laughed the whole time during the stand-up, but as you guys that bank scene had to fuggin go. It was random as hell

I laughed all through the stand-up/ The bank robbery was pretty bad -
(I get the idea of paying some respect to some of the older movies -
Reservoir Dogs.. Mr.Pink, Mr.Black,
Heat..Your money is insured by the federal government, and
Set it off ...The girl doing a dance in the black fishnet bodysuit)

The Larry King interview was also bad -

When he is doing stand-up he is funny. The problem is he does not have enough material to fill the movie length. He should have waited until he had enough material so that he did not have to resort to the silly bank robbery sketch.

In general, I rank him higher than Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer. I never thought D.L. was funny. I wouldn't rank him over Bernie Mac.

He's VERY funny and pretty young. If he doesn't mess it up (DUI aside), he could really go places!
