The Sniper

Must be a professional gamer, no way would he have shot the victims as soon as the curtains twitched......even pro-snipers in army situations aren't that fast or accurate........and the laser dots wouldn't have lit up on the mum and son from over 200ft away

I actually ADMIRE Lance Armstrong because when I took drugs, I couldn't even FIND my bike!

I thought exactly the same! Would have been more believable and more tense if there had been slight delay. Surprised when filmmakers make such obvious mistakes like this. I'm nobody and I know that's not realistic, surely the most basic of research would've revealed the same? Or the battlefield 3 playing kid could've told them!

reply

This filmmakers didn't even realise the building they shot in had two sides, so expecting anything much in the way research is pretty unrealistic when they don't even bother with common sense.

What if a squirrel wants a sausage?

reply

the building only had 1 side of units at least on the top floor and according to what we see in the main hallway. you never see unit doors on the opposite side. don't know if such a tower block like this exists in real life though.

reply

Yes they do.

There are also blocks where the apartments are on two floors... the corridors are on one side of the building with doors into apartments but only every other storey. The
'upstairs' of the apartment spans the entire with of the building with bedrooms above the corridor that is the 'downstairs' level.

SPOLIERS

The thing that didn't make sense to me was the sniper's position. When they were up on the roof trying to repel down the back side of the building the sniper could easily shoot at the fire hose implying that he was up higher. If that was the case surely why not just shoot those three people on top of the roof? Also if the sniper was up that high he would be more angled down when he shot into the apartments which perhaps means crawling on the floor would have possibly still put them in the line of fire.

reply

Not much made sense about the sniper. If he wanted to kill these people, why not blow them up with a bomb or something? This Batman-villain thing with smiley faces, booby traps, phone jammers and ten grand rifles was a bit silly.

Oh, and a tower block with all the flats on only one side made no sense either.

reply

I was like WTF 100% hit accuracy, the sniper didn't even have a spotter, did you see what happen when that guy throw the pillow in the air and the sniper hit the pillow from want 200 yards away.

Another thing stupid about this movie, for someone to be that good of a sniper, skip the 100% accuracy plot hole, they would have to be in the military for a long time and constantly practice every day in and out of the military with their weapon, and whats up with killing the kids no rouge sniper even in real live have even done such a thing so why put it in a movie.

reply

There are many tower blocks in London with all the flats on one side.

reply

not to mention he cant be targeting every room at the same time. yet he always seems to be targeting the room where the curtains open.

like I said the earlier part of the movie is better but the main actress kept me watching all of it and I have seen many worser movies.

reply

Yup that part was stupid, but i could mentally block it by pretending it was a gang of snipers. The film was decent in most part.

Why wouldn't a laser sight show up after 200ft? I have a laser pen and it can be seen on building on the river bank opposite my city, almost 3km away. Are you saying that high grade military equipment is inferior to something I ordered from Hong Kong for about six pounds?

You don't know sh!t, Jon Snow!

reply

Well laser sights do not put red dots on people. LASER light is invisible. The only person who can see the red dot is the person looking throught the LASER sight itself.

This red dot that appears on people is very annoying, because real LASER sights do not do this.

reply

They always do this in films..

People seem to assume that all film makers are clever and know what they are doing. I personally think that most of the top ones are. But some mistakes that are done are so silly. I did hear Alfred Hitchcock closed a unit down for the day as he could not understand what would make sense in a scene in a film. But a lot I think so oh just let this happen
