Tremendously Enlightening...

Some very interesting facts were brought to light. For example the low amount of waste generated. The actual number of human fatalities associated with this energy type. A lot of the "Pro-Nuke" discussions oozed common since. Is the steady stream of "anti-nuke propaganda" simply unfounded? A mistaken ideology by groups of the unenlighted and misinformed? There's nothing worse than the truth being muddled and buried by "groups" of loudmouth idiots and who's "anti" basis is formed from unfounded ideas and inaccurate facts... Some of the people interviewed here who are against nuclear energy are far more dangerous than any fuel type. The reason they're dangerous? Lack of truth in what they say... They're spreading outright lies one after another. So after (she) spoke, you now have a bunch of misinformed supporters running around misinforming others. That's unfortunate...

Unless the truth is being muddled and buried by groups of intelligent people with hidden agendas. Who are these people? Do you know any of them? Where do they get their facts? Did they even say? Instead of giving us facts with sources, the message each person keeps saying is "I've looked into this and had an eye-opening experience. Trust me, it's fine." Granted I only watched half of it, but I jumped around a lot and it was always the same thing. Trust me.

Watch the whole movie then, before spreading more anti-nuclear lies.

I fully agree with Flout7, this was an eyeopener for me. I hope it will be for million of others aswell. The world needs to know the truth!

reply

what truth would that be?
that we are using technology we do not fully understand or control.
That well into the fail safe era of nuclear power we had fukushima, which has caused a problem they still can not solve 3 years later. Are those the truths you're speaking of?

reply

Did you even watch the movie? :S
If you did you would know what truths i write about.
Ill give you a hint, but im not sure you are capable of putting it together, so here goes.

Death by nuclear power accidents and radiation, and how people (like that women who said millions died) lie about those numbers even though the real numbers are free for anyone to see. I dont see why WHO and other big human rights organisations would write a number so small if it was not true.

But instead there are so many people spreading lies about death counts etc. because they are afraid to know the truth, and would rather hide in the lie of their own minds.

maybe you didn't understand the criticisms people made in these comments sections. I'll try and explain. you do your best to keep up.
The nutter woman in the the movie, she was a token nutter, to make out that all criticism of nuclear power can be summed up by the word 'nutter'.
See how insincere that is? It dismisses all concern as mad rantings.
That's not discussing the issue, it's setting up an agenda and hammering it home.
go and have a read of the fire you can't put out thread and see what a thoughtful pro nuclear discussion looks like. Acknowledging issues and attempting to think them through.

Now wipe that slobber off your chin and try and address the whole issue of nuclear power, not just shout people down and do exactly the same as the mad ranting woman, but for the pro nuke side. intelligent balanced debate, I know it's a new concept for you but I believe you can do it.

reply

Rob-O-Cop, why do you have to reply to every single thread on this board, repeating the same message over and over again?

I could tell you the same, to wipe that slobber off your chin and try and address the whole issue of nuclear power with some goddamn dignity, not just shout people down and do exactly the same as the mad ranting woman.

If anyone here is a nutter, it's you.

ah, using the pandora's promise strategy. At least you're consistent.
I've acknowledge the pluses of nuclear power and said I'm not anti the concept of it at all, in fact I think it makes a lot of sense. I'm just anti trying to operate something that we clearly do not have the knowledge and skill to do so safely at this point in time. That's my "mad rant". Sanity.
I'll come back every time anyone tries to brush that one salient point under the mat, because it's important and relevant.
When we know enough to control nuclear power, that's the time we should be using it. There's a debateably uncontrolled or controlled (depending on who you ask) meltdown happening at Fukushima right now, 3 years after the accident to hammer that point home.
What were you saying again to refute that?

reply

The problem is that given the stats just a rough mental estimate says that we cannot trust the people who build and run these things enough that a Fukushima will not happen every 10-20 years ... and the plants get larger and more complex ... what will a Fukushima look like in 20 years?

I believe in nuclear power ... I don't believe in human beings. Until we can restructure our government and society I cannot think about this. If this is our only alternative ... and it might be ... then we are screwed.
