The Mystery of Edwin Drood

I missed the first half hour of the first episode. What I did see I enjoyed very much. The settings etc and the people all looked authenic. Best of all it wasn't made to suit modern day ways as this does happen with soem productions which makes them look stupid. I have not read all of the book but I do know that Edwin called Rosa, Pussy and I wondered was it left out because it sounded corny or vulgar. Did Crisparkle marry Helena.

Jim.

I think the sexual connotations were a very strong incentive to eliminate the pet name.

Yes; one assumes so.

If you look up the story on Wiki it explains what Dickens intentions were which is why Jasper kills Edwin in most of the versions.

it also explains what happens to all of the characters according to people who knew Dickens then.
