sPOILER: No one in 21st century can end it like Dickens would

SPOILERISH::::::::::::::::

Even if the writer is as close to Dickens in language/ideas as possible, she does NOT live in 19th century. Back then the style of writing was completely differnet. Readers lives were different and they expected the most bleak of stories from Dickens. Sometimes he had a happy ending but even then it was never rosy.

FF to 21st century readers. Everyone expects a twist for one thing. And also not only a twist but a mystery to go along with it. I think Dickens also would have provided a twist.

But of course it is impossible to know. Back then the writers didn't always provide a twist or a happy ending. The writer did as much as she could to follow Dickens thoughts, but again she is living in this present time and you have to remember she and Dickens had totally different lives to draw from.

Yes, the first half is Dickens and the second half is similar to Dickens but still different. I was happy with the ending and also very shocked.
Therefore I am happy.
