This was not shot on location!!

Some moronic user actually think this movie was shot in the real city of Pripyat. Guess what stupid person: that would have been very dangerous and it would never be allowed. I can't believe anyone would actually seriously think this was shot on location!!

Morons!

That's not what "shot on-location" means. It just means that it wasn't shot in a sound stage.

I know what it means. But some use here on imdb, seriously thought that it meant that they had shot the movie in the real city of Pripyat. Even though radiation would have made it impossible, not to mention illegal. I admit it looks extremely real (try and google (Pripyat) in spite of a most likely low budget, but still. Sometimes people dont think before they write online.

Oh my mistake. I must be one of those people for not reading your post clearly enough

You can visit Pripyat idiot. I've been there. It's not too dangerous to visit, hike, or take pictures. You could go there in 2010 without issue.

IMDb Trivia:

The film was shot on location in Hungary and Serbia.

Hey guyz!

I read all your comments & indeed, it is possible to visit Pripyat for years.

If you watch the end of the movie endcredits (I watched the movie last night), it is written that the part shot in Pripyat was shot there by... (a name). So maybe they quickly shot on location in Pripyat then the rest is editing the parts in Serbia and else together so the whole pack looks like the same area to the viewers.

Or maybe this comment in the endcredit is a lie and all was photoshopped. But we clearly see a nuclear station far in front of them that looks like Chernobyl when they are inside the apartment, looking from the balcony.

Have a great day.
