If you could change one thing about the movie, what would it be?

Looking back at it now, this movie was niether the best movie ever nor disastrous, but I felt like it could have been better. I felt like, and I noticed some other people picked up on it as well, that it would have been interesting to have it be like a nature-like thing. Not necessarily like The Happening, but to where the villian was nature because the first half of the movie defenitly gave off the vibe that nature could very well have gotten evil. I mean we all saw a random bear come out of nowhere, plant growth in buildings and all. I tried to hold onto that idea, however when I saw the dogs looked pretty normal, and that made it a wrap. I dunno, I think that would have been something that could have changed.

I'd have Yuri survive the whole charade. It would be made look like he died. But he was just wounded.

I would of made have huge twist in the end where the brother set up the brother and all of them were in on it. Kind of like the movie The Game. It was after all Extreme Touring.

Like the 80s movie April Fools Day.

It would have been interesting if the apartment they looked around was revealed to be Uri's old home.

reply

That would have been interesting if it would have been revealed that Uri was actually a survivor of the Cherynoybl incident and his real intention was to come back and look for some survivors.

I was expecting that at one point, I also thought Uri set it all up to feed the mutants

Have Yuri be smarter. He's ex-military, and the Russians train some of the best soldiers. I was a bit disappointed, but I hold out the hope that he cut his losses and just left the group to fend for them selves.

I also would have loved if that one apartment was his home has a child. It would make sense why he can get in (aside from his military background), and why he chose that apartment.

I agree, It would be a lot better if they made Yuri smarter, he didn't have to be a badass per say, but at least make him capable of out-surviving dumb teenagers. Also the way they killed off the people seemed so rush, I was surprised when they just started dropping like flies with no rhyme or reason, not even suspense! I think the director should have watched [REC] and Hill's Have Eyes to get a better understanding of how to film a mutant-horror movie.

I was hoping Yuri would pull a Rambo and just go nuts at the end blowing up the whole place and saving the whole group.

Well, at the very least have Yuri be a bit smarter. I mean he spends how much time on the radio? Did they have time to make it out of there with daylight or could he have worked on fixing the van? Ultimately he got the guards looking for them, they saw the group at the gate and then obviously heard him on the radio when their van was sabotaged - so was it the mutants or the military that sabotaged his van? It wasn't made that clear, I mean would the mutants know to destroy the wires? They didn't show to have any tools.

Realistically I would have wanted the military at the end to be a bit less creepy with killing off the girl. I mean putting her in the room with the 'patients' so they could do their dirty work... was that really necessary? I mean put a bullet in her head, give her an injection telling her it'll make her better, maybe even just wait for the radiation poisoning to kill her off - what's the point of locking her in a room with monsters? And that being said, they really locking a room full of monsters? Why not have them all strapped to beds individually or locked up in smaller groups - how do they deal with them without worrying they'll escape again? Stupid for dramatic effect.

I would have made it so that there was some kind of zombie outbreak in the town, and the reactor was blown up back in the 80s to kill the zombies, but it just made them mutant zombies, and it was one big coverup.
