I guess they were going for random, everyday looking, people but unfortunately it makes it less appealing. They are probably all quite attractive in real life.

Anyone can look attractive if they have the right makeup, lighting and wardrobe. Unfortunately these weren't factored into the budget I guess. That is what was distracting to me, the lack of these essential components. The clothing selection looked like it was grabbed from a Walmart super sale, the houses were only partially furnished, color and music are key to setting a mood- this lacked that. I would have hummed the goose song- because quiet frankly- just what!? It was a bold try and I applaud the director for the idea, but it needs to be redone with better technique and better resources.
