When did Mac start wearing a wig?

I've always really liked her hair, and everything about her really, especially how she dresses and how she comports herself. But in I just watched an episode, "The Blood Of Juana The Mad," and noticed (for the first time?) that she's actually wearing a wig? Was she in another movie or something? It looks so off....
