Every Cloud Productions and Season 4
So I have what could be conceived as good news and I have bad news…
Every Cloud Productions is the company that produces Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and as of now they aren't even talking about season 4… clearly, the bad news.
They are however, selling Miss Fisher "products" (not the really good ones IMHO, no hats, no bags, no clothing per se, just wraps of various kinds and two pieces of jewelry - and no, not for the head) on the site AND as a result of the popularity of the series "Miss Fisher's Costume Exhibit" featuring over 60 costumes and some set pieces is on display in what I believe is the building they use as Police Headquarters in Melbourne. The exhibit will run until Sept. 15th. The designer is Marion Davies for those who are curious.
Apparently there is also a video game of some sort coming based on Miss Fisher related to a "Maze" of some kind.
For those who like the music featured on the show, you can get the soundtrack from S/3 at the ABC website (Australia Broadcast Network) along with some other things they're selling as well. The S/1 box set for example.
The latest interview with Essie Davis puts her in CA but she admits her family, she and her husband have two daughters, live like "gypsies". They move… A LOT. Although born in Tasmania she hasn't been back THERE in quite some time.
My take on all this, when added to the fact that two other fairly reliable sources (I was just mining guys so I'm sorry I didn't get links) is that MFMM is INCREDIBLY POPULAR. Not only in AU but the UK and US as well with indications it's spreading around the globe. The merchandising is going pretty well for everyone involved as it appears they plan to keep adding to what they sell both at the production co. site and ABC. All of the outside buzz (outside of EC & ABC) says the show has become far too popular not to renew for a 4th season but I can also tell you that S/3 was already in the can by this time last year and that neither site made any mention at all about a movie. But Essie seems to LOVE Phryne and it feels like she's speaking present tense, so that too seems hopeful… I hope .
But the long and tall of it is that we don't really know nuthin! Nuthin at all… Which is almost unbearable for me to report. So… sorry guys. It looks like the good news might not be good enough and the bad news almost appears to bury the good news. Because even if EVERYONE wants a 4th and BELIEVES there should be one… wanting and believing and hoping won't necessarily make it so. ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!
