is this considered a universal monster movie?

Just found it on netflix, and its made by the the studio and about a legendary monster (or monsters).
It has nothing to do with Larry Talbot or the Lon Chaney Jr movie, but I mean they made other ones too.

I think its fair to class it as one of the modern canon of Universal horror, an interesting film that can hold its head up alongside the Benecio Del Toro film
