Not ANOTHER Storage film, when will this saga end?

I loved the first film, Storage, in 1978. Roy Schieder and Veronica Cartwright were brilliant, and it was genuinely creepy. The sequels were ok, up until Storage 7 where Donald Pleasance played the Mayor of London, then things started really falling apart. Between Storage 10-18 it was basically just "spot the character from The Bill or Dr Who", as the budget was less than a trip to Tesco. I haven't even seen past Storage 21. I can't imagine anyone will really care much for Storage 24. I'm amazed its gone on this long, its longer than the Bond franchise by now.

Although a straight-to-video release, Storage 22 is actually a pretty decent horror. I like the time travel aspect of it and the fact that much of it is set in revolutionary France is a nice twist on the main theme.

But I agree, after 7 it was pretty much all downhill. Storage 14: Storage in Space is particularly dreadful, despite (or perhaps because of) the appearance of Danny Dyer as a cross-dressing magician (and the twist that he was his own assistant was obvious from the start).

Oh man, Storage 14 was just insane. It reminded me of that terrible Hellraiser film set in space (Bloodline I think it was called).

Do you remember the one where Dexter Fletcher played evil twins, but the direction/timing/SFX were so bad that there were awkward pauses when he was talking to his twin? I think he even throws a gun to himself at one point and they cut to someone else's hand throwing it just before Dexter catches it. Awful. Can't even remember what was in the Storage box in that one.

Yeah, I remember the first one. Scheider was shooting Jaws at the time, and Cartwright was involved with Alien. If you look closely at both of them, especially in the closing scenes (and before they both get their faces eaten off, obviously), you can see loads of continuity goofs between the 3 movies. Scheider is wearing his 'Amity Police' shirt in one scene, and Cartwright's hair is shorter and punkier.

The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery.

I also have a soft spot for the 'film within a film' aspect of Storage 4, where the film crew shooting Storage 5 end up trapped in their own film set stalked by the lead actors from Storage 3. I think this was also the first 'lost footage' film. Has a lot to answer for, eh.

Storage 23 is a classic. You should give it a go. It was a bold move to make this episode of the franchise a musical, but I think it works. Who couldn't warm to our heroes - Bonnie Langford and Joe Longthorne - as they sing of their love before they face the alien menace? The masterstroke, in my humble opinion, was casting Liza Minelli as the monster. She brought real pathos to the role. Who didn't shed a tear when she was killed by the laser beams reflected off a mirrorball in the disco-set finale?

Credit must also go to "Storage.com - reboot" from 1979 which pretty accurately depicted the invention of the internet.

I know I'm in the minority here, but Storage 19 was my favorite... with the second prequel Storage -1 a close second.

I don't know. It had to be the whole subplot involving Bill Nigh's hunt for the green MacGuffin device from Storage 8. It brought a great sense of continuity to what seemed to almost be the stand-alone entries (8 through 13), plus I thought it explained many of the plots holes very well. There was a bit of retconning done, but the writer at least did his homework when researching the novels.

BTW, skip the video game tie-in from EA. It's a piece of s***.
