Great fun film

This was just fun from start to end and had an amazing end to it. Now thats how films are surpose to end. Well done Noel Clarke for setting a film in place like the Big Yellow Storage warehouses, what an inspaired idea, there may be other films set in these places but i have not heard of them. Cant wait for the Blu Ray release.

reply

Totally disagree. It was pretty boring. The only good thing in it was the alien. No explanation of how/why the alien was on earth. No explanation of why it ended as it did.

reply

It wasn't great but was enjoyable enough for what it was and I liked the little twist at the end. As for the lack of explanations, you are kidding right? Geez cartoons are too complex for some you lot.

reply

it was explained, try to actually watch the movie before you slam it.
imo it was a fun and well done creature feature.

Haha!

This is too funny. How are you personally involved with this film? You know someone who works for the storage company?

Its like someone leaving a review on the MI:4 board saying "The best movie ever! I really enjoyed the BMWs and the climax at the BMW factory. Hey, if Ethan Hunt drives a BMW then I might too! Must be a great car. Great film too".

Or on the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo board:

"What an amazing film! Who would have thought Apple Macs are so resourceful. Obviously the brand of choice for computing. Terrific film".

Also, you say "there may be other films set in these places but I have not heard of them". What, you haven't even heard of Storage 1-23? Where have you been?

At least his post/opinion on the film was just that - his opinion. And to be quite frank, I didn't feel I had become suddenly dumber after having read it.

Although that doesn't hold true after reading yours. I don't believe he ever mentioned that he was personally involved with the film either. (???)

I look forward to this film. Hope its at least decent. It doesn't have to be great, I just hope it doesn't suck to the third degree. I'm probably asking for a lot there... sigh.

lol im so sick of people who work for films or kids of the people who invested foolishly who are hoping to not loose their shirts, coming on imdb and posting fake reviews. They always are recent members (about 1 min before the post lol) and have never reviewed anything and have contributed nothing after the false positive remark and the title of the review or post always says, 'actually really fun', or 'ignore the hate this film is fun', or 'not an A class film but a great B movie...FUN'.
No one falls for it and it is always so obvious.
If you want to con the public into seeing your trash then start the post or review saying, 'terrible...but i loved the twist at the end' or 'not the best film ever made but not the worse' or 'if offered death or this film id choose this film everytime!!!'.

if u r legit and just have terrible taste i am sorry...for u lol
TROLLIN ;>

reply

winzentween, lol im so sick of trolls that don't work on films, nor will ever work in films, and wouldn't know a decent a film if it bit them on the arse, trawling message boards looking to add their half-witted drivel.

I watched this movie and found it to be quite good. I am not linked to the cast or crew, I simply like a good low budget sci-fi horror with some good effects, and this hit the mark.

If you didn't like the movie, then waddya know, you have terrible taste and I am not sorry for you in the least, in fact get a life you sad individual.

Dude, for some stupid reason I had good hopes for the film but it failed me. It wasn't awful but in my opinion it certainly isn't good. The ending was not brilliant because it is almost exactly like a 2009 horror film called The Blackout which almost the same ending instead of a storage unit it was an apartment building. I know it is not getting a release in the US. I thought it was pretty boring, I even fell asleep for a couple of minutes. The acting was decent with some bad dialogue and some nice creature effects. If you liked this movie, you should watch Johannes Roberts last film made in 2011 called Roadkill, I actually really liked Roadkill.

reply

I enjoyed it. Good film to watch on Halloween. I never take into account the ratings or comments on IMDb so am glad i checked it out for myself!

reply

This movie was terrible. I am a professional critic and I must say that this amateur hour and a half.

reply

I totally agree with the OP. Sure there were some stupid parts to the story and it was campy at times, but it created a great tense atmosphere and had some good jumpy scares. They also did a lot with a small budget and relatively unknown cast. I enjoyed it quite a bit. And the twist was great!

reply

Agreed. I thought this film was quite tense, gripping, and effective. Moreover, it was nice to see a sci-fi/horror film with such well-drawn and believable characters.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

reply

Believable characters? Hahaha, stilted dialog with cliched teenage problems all wrapped up in a soap opera style Dr. Who world you mean?
Yeah, gripping huh.
People just wouldn't behave like that in real life - would you? No.

reply

it's like you guys were expecting a golden globe performance here lol,

For my expectations being low the movie was awesome, If you didn't like it, well, that's your opinion and doesn't mean everyone has to feel like you or you consider them wrong.

"I am a professional critic" lmao, we all are!

reply

But low budget doesn't HAVE to mean bad writing, pace and logic! The actors are well known and Noel was in the latest StarTrek film for crapsake.

I can't just lower expectations because I know it's done cheaply, besides the creature FX didn't look THAT cheap, comedic maybe.
There are stage productions with people standing in front of a black background, that are better than this amateur drama. I'm sorry but there is no excuse, other than plain laziness, for this horror bore.
I suspect all the money was blown on health and safety regulations rather than someone who could actually write a proper script. Ha! Oh well... :)

reply

dont remember their names, "characters: black guy, white guy, white girlfriend, other blonde" haha

i just remember liking the story, thought it was a good twist when you find out his best friend and gf were having a fling, meanwhile he confesses his broken heart to his best friend earlier.

Liked how the black guy prevailed after his "best friend" left him for death..

liked how at the end, after everything he didn't want her back.

and the twist at the end was awesome, all he wanted to do was go home, sadly to know there's no home to go back to as the world is coming to an end. They thought they won, survivors but the in was just one small victory.

reply

Way to do spoilers, goodfella33!

It's OK if you're got cliched TV movie levels of expectations! The comedy ship at the end looked like a shiny computer game model from 1998!
I have seen worse SciFi channel movies than this pile, but it's not a reason to let this one off the lazy hook.

reply

i agree the cgi was weak, but like i said i liked the story. Plus the storage manager was from one of my favorite shows, BEING HUMAN UK. He played a 80' ghost haha.

And efff that, not a spoiler. If you want to see this movie stay the hell off the board, if you want to come on and check it's ratings fine. But do not come on here and read messages.

watch the damn movie first, then come on. I will never check out the messages of imdb boards before watching the movie. Read the damn story line and check the ratings.

if you dont want to watch it then read the messages.

reply

The 'spoiler' thing is IMDB forum rules, not your rules - but what the heck, hey.

reply

haha, oooops!

never looked at the rules, I dont like that rule.

reply

It is a bit silly, I guess it's to protect the film makers from losing money or something crazy like that.

reply

I think the Spoiler rule is stop some element of the plot being given away before someone has seen the film. Personally I think it makes most sense when it's a new release and should never be done on the subject line. I was skimming the boards recently and stumbled on a spoiler that made me decide to skip a film because it obviously took a sad turn and I wasn't in the mood for it.

I have always believed in the kindness of strangers

reply

Agreed, if your are reading the bottom on a thread about things that people did or
didn't like in a movie, then I would not worry about spoilers, *beep* that guy, just
another wanna be board police...

Just watched it.
No fun at all.
Horrible acting from everybody involved.
Terribly clichéd script.
Nothing original. Even the alien was a total rip off of the alien from Predator.
Worst movie I've watched in a very long time.

The Original Poster "Great fun film" just HAD to be trolling for strong reactions. OKay, but it's not strong reaction, this feeble attempt at tension horror/ sci-fi monster managed to avoid looking like it was filmed in a dark dungeon by filming in a 'normally' brightly lit storage warehouse. Good show. But it was strictly from hunger and not worth watching if you have more than a couple of synapses to rub together and have seen, well... anything else.
The plot was unoriginal, the characters thinly sketched out, and the actors were cast because they could act or look like other actors who would have cost more. There was a cheapness to the operation which they could have played into, but they took themselves too seriously for that.

reply

Here's the thing about movies. People have their own reactions to them. Whether they like them or not has nothing to do with anyone else's reaction. Just because someone loves a movie someone else's hates doesn't mean they're wrong bout their own feelings. If someone had a great time, that that is what it is. If someone was bored with the same experience, that's what it is for them.

I don't know why people get angry and hateful because someone had a different reaction to a movie than thy did. Lol

There are many ways people can personally define a great movie. Sometimes it's how it's made, other times it can be how the experience made them feel even though it wasn't made well. There are greatly made movies that are critically acclaimed and award winning that bore me to death and there are average to badly made movies that give me an adrenaline rush or simply make me feel good after seeing them.

This movie was average in quality, not the worst, but I felt good after watching it in spite of it's flaws. Probably because I was in a fun mood and wiling to have some fun.
