Went in totally blind and was really impressed. Great performances by the leads and man, really intriguing darkness. I really enjoyed Michael's character and it broke my heart when he went to the dominatrix after his big failure. When he was revealing what he wanted to be done to him you could feel her breaking down.

The final twist ending I'm kind of the on fence about. That's really the only thing I am iffy on in the whole movie. For the last 10 or so minutes I was frozen in front of the screen. Great film.

Agree. I think we see it pretty much the same way. I would have been fine with the ending not being so twisty and wild; but at the same time, like you I was really frozen in front of the screen. So even if the ending if it was not exactly what we wanted, it was what Schaeffer wanted, and it was powerful rather than cheesy (IMO and in yours it seems), so can we really fault him?
