Why the frick did the critics hate it?

It was a below average movie. Had some funny parts but wasn't any good.

Very average. Very formulatic.

My wife and I both loved it. We were laughing out loud at some of antics of the characters, especially the bald eagle when comes out for the 1st time and takes a ... (hahahaha - loved the whole scene).

Also, the three main characters went very well together. I really liked the cure yellow (fast) bird but they were all good.

Not sure, really small children (9 and under) would get some of the jokes.

Loved it. Hope they make the second one.

It was quite formulaic and didnt offer anything new. however given the source material it was pretty good imo. Critics tend to overvalue innovation because they watch far more than average person and get bored of formulaic movies.

The spirit of abysmal despair

because it wasnt made by pixar. I cant remember the last time i sat and watched a movie that made me literally say that it was fun. It wasn't filled with cliches nor was it cheesy in any way. in fact i'd say that it broke from the mold in many ways and my wife and I loved it. I couldn't get into the good dinosaur or the life of pets really, and only one animated movie beats it for me this year (zootopia - which surprised me). Dory was good and sausage party was utter, utter trash. Bravo to this movie. I watched it twice already :)

Yes! I feel like all these adults review and forget it's a kids movie! Kids are easily entertained. Our son is 7 we all watched together and he loved it my husband and I actually really liked it!! I thought it was hilarious and hope there's a sequel
