anachronistic face

Mrs Hatfields face so obviously had plastic surgey, and the swollen lip thing these types think looks good (like Lohan). It was so distracting. what a poor job of casting. I'm sure between the saloon and the whore house was a 19th century plastic surgeon.

Do you need glasses or what? The actress was just fine. It was not poor casting. Get your eyes checked.

She was prettier (and younger) than McCoys wife. Which was a deliberate choice to make the audience see how McCoy might feel jealous.

reply

She didn't look like she has had work done. In fact, she looked really good to me! And she did a really wonderful job against Costner. I loved the whole series.

Those succulent lips bothered not me. Actually Doc Rutherford dabbled in cosmetic surgery for a few years until one of his clientele got a nasty infection from his cigar ashes, resulting in one of her clan shooting his horse. Afterward he pretty much limited his practice to lead extraction and postmenopausal depression.

reply

Really? Lol. Cool detail.

you know what else bothered me? you could see most of the "dead" people breathing if you looked close. totally distracting. if they were committed to their craft they would have let themselves get shot for real.

I thought the same thing. Most of the women had very well sculpted eyebrows too. It's a shame really. Overall this was a really great series but I see these women's faces and it completely takes me out of the moment.

reply

To be fair, the male actors weren't very realistic either in the looks department. Take a gander at the real Johnse Hatfield sometime, for example.

Stupidity or trolling? You decide!

I read the OP when I was watching the show yesterday and just thought it was ridiculous. Then I noticed- its SO TRUE!!!

Her upper lip to right below her eyes doesn't budge. Its pure plastic!
