Could Someone Recommend a Book on this Subject?
What's the best book that I could buy regarding the Hatfields and McCoys that anyone could recommend that's historically accurate? Thank you for any insights into my request.

There's one huge problem with your request - none of the books are totally accurate. They're all based on one side or the other's accounts. For example, as a Hatfield, my gut reaction was to refer you to the book "Tale of the Devil" (forget the author). Your best bet would be to contact the Pike County, KY and Logan County, WV historical societies to get books that are written from each perspective and make your own conclusions. Although, there is one written by an outsider as a sociological study that is really good. It's "Feud: Hatfields, McCoys, and Social Change in Appalachia, 1860-1900" by Altina L. Waller. Another one I recommend is "The Hatfields & the McCoys" by Virgil Carrington Jones.

The Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce in Williamson, WV has a large selection of Hatfield and McCoy historical books.
