Hatfields = good acting, McCoys= terrible acting

Was this by coincidence or design? Paxton and all the guys that played his sons were humorously bad in this thing. Costner, Berenger, and most of the other Hatfield's were pretty believable. Did it feel lopsided to anyone else?

I didn't notice this until you pointed it out, but I am inclined to agree with a few exceptions. Perry Cline was well done, as was Sally. Jeff (?) and Calvin McCoy were okay. The girls + Tolbert, Bud, and Pharmer really stuck out like sore thumbs though.

Maybe that's why they are fighting.

reply

Absolutely, Perry Cline was awesome.

I thought everyone did a good job of acting in this mini-series. Emmy nominations deserving.

I thought Bill Paxton was great as usual.

Paxton's acting was bad? It was spot on... He supposed to be portraying a crazy, drunk bible thumper.

Having Berenger, Boothe and Costner with the Hatfield's doesn't help either. The acting from the guy who played Bad Frank was great though, same with whoever played Jim McCoy.
