Bravo Tom Berenger!

Didn't think he had it in him...some fine acting there. Should be a lock to win a supporting role award of sorts.

" Best actor of the show, followed by those who played CottonTop "

It wasn't the first time Noel Fisher ...who played Cotton Top...played that character. He played that same role...a developmentally challenged young man...in a 2009 hallmark christmas film ... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1519929/...(he was the main character).

I didn't even recognize him -- and he did steal the show. Wow.

Mr. Berenger is back!

reply

Berenger really excels in historical roles.

He gives two of my favorites as Longstreet in 'Gettysburg' and Theodore Roosevelt in 'Rough Riders'.

He was a bit less successful playing Paul 'Bear' Bryant in ESPN's 'Junction Boys'.

I always enjoy seeing him in films and didn't even recognize him at first on 'Hatfields & McCoys'. He was quite good. One of the highlights.

Frank: Just a man.
Harmonica: An ancient race.

He played one mean SOB!

I thought he was great....

"Bad Guys" have to give an actor more to work with....he just has to be careful not to overdo it. I think that's where the real talent lies.

reply

I must say, I agree entirely. I thought Mr. Berenger's performance was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

In fact I think the acting was pretty damn good from all involved. I found it a very interesting event to watch.

And I know some here don't like Mr. Costner however I thought he did a splendid job as "Devil Anse" also.

Bravo to all involved, I say.

At least KC didn't ruin the movie by attempting a rural West Virginia accent like that horrible Boston accent like he did, as JFK advisor Ken O'Donnell, in THIRTEEN DAYS. IMO, accents aren't his strong suit. If you listen to the quintessential KC troll, one189, he did the best acting job in this movie.

Quintessential is an awful big word to use, netitans. You might hurt yourself hoisting that kind of word at little old me...and I'm hardly a troll. If you don't like my posts, you are most welcomed to put me on your ignore list...like I will do to you.

reply

Agreed! Didn't recognize him either. Realling loving the series (watching it on DVR and only a third of the way through).

Not looking this way, cupcake!

reply

I also thought Tom stole the movie! I do wish more attention had been paid to the accents. I have always agreed that KC is weak in this area.

reply

I kept wondering when he was going to appear. Didn't realize he already had, that he was the uncle until 30 minutes of episode 3.

reply

Agreed. I didn't even know that was him! I kept thinking damn I know that he is in this when is he going to show?!

reply

I was pleasantly surprised by Tom Berenger's performance. He hasn't acted that well in a long time.

reply

I agree. He was fantastic and was one hell of a character. I didn't even recognize him, and you know someone did a great job acting when people can praise your role despite playing a dispecable human being. There are some who cannot differentiate between character and actor...
