The McCoys were so weak.

This shouldn't even be called a feud, it should be called complete domination. The McCoys got owned. They were lucky with Jim Vance but in the end the Hatfields clearly won.

I kind of agree. Randolph basically let his hatred consume and destroy his family.

As portrayed in this miniseries, the McCoys were basically dirt poor morons who were definitely owned. Ironically, if you watch the modern day Hatfield and McCoy decendants seen in 'White Lightning', the younger generation of McCoys seem less hillbillyish than the modern day Hatfields IMO. But the accents......

I remember thinking the same when I read of the "feud", it ws basically the hatfields murdering the mccoys.

Also, Randall says, in the last episode, that he does not consider it a feud. But a many year long campaign of swindling and murder of his family. So you are correct when you say it shouldnt be called a feud. The hatfields acted mostly like outlaws and murderers.

Weren't most of the hatfields convicted and sentenced to life in prison or hanging? I think in the end both families lost. I think the body count was 7-5 in favor of hatfields but I think 8 hatfields for convicted, so the mcoys were not that far behind in terms of getting "owned"
