Filmmakers extreme disconnect from horror fans?

As I started watching this film I thought "Okay the music is torturous and so we are going to see these girls in this group horribly killed one by one."
And while it is true that they get killed off, somehow the filmmakers think we as horror fans are supposed to give a crap about these talentless idiots?

Reality check - I am certain that most horror fans would find the idea of the "girl group" and the "music" repellant because to me, the most horrific aspect of this film are those very elements. It is the mediocre, soul-sucking "American Idol" for asian teens style of entertainment that should be alarming to anyone concerned with the future of the planet.

It's bizarre to think that the creators of this film somehow thought that horror fans around the world might feel a connection?

I didn't like the characters, but not because they were talentless. I didn't like them because the filmmakers created awful characters who do horrible and mean things to each other for some nonsensical reasons.

It's supposed to be repugnant. The music industry has been like this for years. One thing I respect about Asian movies is that they don't sugarcoat reality. A lot of the world's most popular singers and musicians are *beep* who have clawed their way to the top. That's the behind the scenes attitude behind the plastic smiles of our pop stars. I think WHITE did a very good of showing the truth about that, but of course a large American audience would never accept an English version of this movie, because they treasure fantasy, not reality.

rofl yes, an american audience can't tolerate a realistic film like this one. No, my problem with relating with the characters wasn't that they weren't likeable, but it was really confusing how this movie starts "killing" off the girls so early in the film, but until they get down to the very last one they still act like they have a band. No offense, but after the first girl almost hangs herself, the band should either A) be shown as ceasing to exist which would make the movie super short or B) replacing the maimed singers. Sorry but I had a hard time understanding why, after the first girl gets sent to the hospital, they kept acting like the group was gonna continue as per usual. In fact, if you really wanted to make this film better, so more realistic, I would have had the ghost act like more of a evil force gradually having the women becoming more and more competitive till one night, she just takes them out all at once.

Is it really that hard not to be a dick on IMDB???

This film wasn't for you.

The filmmakers know exactly the audience they were going for, and it wasn't Western horror fans.

Straight up, if you don't like K-Pop, you will have nothing to look for in this film. If you do though, you probably will like it.
