No, but she was receiving the same salary as he was, and so she felt they were partners. She also had costar approval, etc., which gave her certain leverage.

You're welcome : ) The other significant thing is Davis ceded top billing on the project to Crawford, for extra pay, and this means Aldrich really owed her. She didn't have to do the film. And....she was more in line with his down-to-earth personality and general thinking, to begin with. So they agreed about most major things.

Yes. If this series is accurate, Crawford was obviously much more difficult to deal with.
