The only way to describe the humour in this would be…

An invasion of the body snatchers attempt at pythonesuqe humour.

Sometimes they almost get it, all the pieces are there, things like the complaints department, the anachronisms and the christans harassment of Michael palin are very close, but other times it's so far off.

Why is it so hard for people to get the pythons humour right?

Other than that, it was a fine piece of television, the only way a drama about the pythons should be displayed, everyone was spot on in their performances cleese, palin and idle were faultless.

I suppose the only people that can do Python humour are the original Pythons themselves and only then when they were younger. They would be unable to replicate it these days, some of them are not far off from being the next Malcolm Muggeridge!

The film did a nice attempt to be in the vein of that Pythonesque humour and in my opinion may be the best single drama shown on UK tv this year.

Its that man again!!

Neil innes could also do it.

Too right, it's a shame nobody knew when it was on, i have a feeling it got very low viewing figures.

For BBC 4 it got rather good ratings and it was repeated several times. I expect further repeats before it is shown on BBC2.

As for Innes he was associated with the Monty Python gang as he worked with them.
