What a fantastic idea to have Darren Boyd portray John Cleese in his Fawlty persona. Best Basil impersonation I've ever seen. Faultless.
Also thought it was very clever to have Palin's wife portrayed by Rufus Jones as Terry Jones as one of Terry Jones's female characters.
The whole thing was hilarious with most of the writing on a par with the Python's themselves. Lots of in-jokes and signposts for those of us more than healthily familiar with the originals.
Only complaint...not enough of Belinda Stewart-Wilson. Can't understand why her TV appearances are so rationed.

All I can say is I hope the Python God strikes you down for such blasphemy.

It was very very very good.

Best thing I've seen on BBC4 since Micromen.

I always liked Darren Boyd, but I never knew how gifted he was at mimicry. He absolutely nailed John Cleese to the "t".

What a superb piece of television. Absolutely brilliant. Pythonesque take on the Pythons. Gorgeously done.

It was rather Phythonesqe in its writing and a good move to go from a faithful adaptation of real life events to a reimagining. Some very good acting and Boyd was good with the Basil Fawlty interpretation.

Its that man again!!

Some of the best television I've seen all year, certainly the best one-off programme. Hilarious from start to finish.

And then.....AND THEN THE CAGE COMES DOWN!

I loved it, slightly glad this is one of those rare hard to find gems.
