Not very funny and quite annoying...

... trying way too hard to be like the original. Quite embarrassing really; It feels like its been written by 1980s public schoolboys, which it probably was.

Though having said that all the main performers are incredibly spot on - except for that playing Graham Chapman. When I was a kid I was convinced that Steve Punt was Eric Idle's son.

Couldn't agree with you more about Graham Chapman's depiction. He's easily my favourite Python, and here he's portrayed as a limp-wristed, fey, luvvie-darling pantomime caricature of a gay man. I was offended on his behalf.

Yes, Chapman was "out" to his friends and colleagues, but he didn't go around advertising the fact or boasting about the many "alternative lifestyle" publications he'd written pieces for, which he does in one scene here.

The rest of the film, with the possible exception of Steve Punt's performance, was a major disappointment for me.

DAD!! Tom Cruise won't come out of the closet!!!

I am SO sick of this stupid internet meme "trying too hard"! Oh, and by the way, Gavin, saying "way" too hard just makes it worse. You are my enemy for life.

Apparently, this nonsensical phrase started with pre-teen girls, who notoriously copy phrases from their favorite tv shows, but I don't know specifically from whence it originates. Any ideas, girls? BUT I really need you all to stop saying "trying too hard" if you don't want to come across as a tweener. Also, Gavin, you are worse than Hitler!
