Kids in the Hall

I miss the show already, but rewatching a lot of it kinda reminded me of old skits from the Kids in the Hall. Key and Peele were definitely original in their own right, but it was cool to see parts where they were influenced by KitH.

I like to think of Key and Peele as sort of a successor to Chapelle's Show. They both ran on Comedy Central around the start of a decade, and started tons of inside jokes. If every generation has its variety show, key and peele was that show for the former half of the '10s. I think far off we'll remember K&P fondly as a symbol of the 2010s, as we do Kids in the Hall and the '90s.

Key & Peele definitely had a fair amount of avant garde / experimental humor, so it is fair to compare it to Kids In The Hall, which had the same. Both would rather be bold and innovative than go for cheap laughs (most of the time).
