why are so many people hating on this show

its hilarious

reply

its really a hit or miss show some of their skits are just not funny

reply

I agree about it being hit or miss but def one of the better more quality shows on comedy central. I dont always think their stuff is funny but I can see why some would. Where as some of the shows CC puts on I just dont know what they were thinking spending the money to make one or two seasons to inevitably cancel it.

It seems obvious to me when a show is going to fail .

I feel like the same could be said for any sketch show though.

Exactly----Saturday Night Live usually has skits that aren't funny either,in fact the show as a whole hasn't been that funny for years anyway. I lke some of Key & Peele's skits---my favorite is the "Homeless Bone", which was hilarious, especially since they had the Bones,Thugs & Harmony singing style down to a T---the Mexican Standoff skit, which was a clever spoof of action movies cliches, and the "Obama Loses His S**t" skit. Sometimes hey fall back on the stereotypes only to twist them around, sometimes they are hit or miss---they're still good actors and can be funny as hell when they're able to get their teeth into a actually funny sketch, though.

Just curious as to why their show isn't getting much hype---I only found out about their show when reading a magazine recently--I don't have cable. And how come they haven't put their own movie together yet? That would be worth seeing if it turns out to be good.

Some people think it is a shallow knock off of the chapelle show

reply

It is way over the top and annoying. The only time I find the show funny is when they are ripping on black people.

reply

Then you must always find it funny...

reply

Some people don't think just being racist is funny.

Last 3 films seen: Hansel & Gretel 8/10, The City of Violence 8/10, and The Big Swindle 8/10

And those people are idiots.

White people will love it, especially the nerds, but black people won't notice or even forget about the skits. They're very hit or miss, and when they miss its cringe worthy and when they hit, its a chuckle not a huge laugh. Chappelle skits were huge hits, and even if they missed, you could still find a catchphrase or a memorable scene.

Plus, lets be honest, everyone is watching K and P because there's no more Chappelle show.

ridiculous it is more like intelligent people think the show sucks
if their target audience is ages 6-10 or high on weed teenagers then I would say they nailed it
all others will hate it

reply

I think the show is hilarious. I own the first 3 seasons on blu-ray. It's even funnier on blu-ray uncensored because you get full 1080p

Are YOU speaking for ME? "Whys you disrespecting me?" (That's something I imagine you would say.)

I cant stand this show, its not funny and all the jokes feel forced. I have tried many times to get into it but end up cringing for the guys in it.

I'm not saying its terrible because it seems to have a fan base but I wont be watching it again.

reply

The show is ok, some sketches I find funny. I do think its like a knock off of the Dave Chappelle Show.

reply

Personally, I just don't find these guys all that funny, even when they were on Mad TV. Even worse, two(1/2)black guys that don't have a problem with putting on a dress in a sketch show that more or less acts as Comedy Central's substitute for Chappelle's Show (by way of the awful Mind of Mencia) seems like a step back for them.

Also, theres absolutely nothing 'edgy' or 'dangerous' about their humor at all; they're really corny.

Unfortunately, people hate on everything these days. So-called horror fans hate every horror movie or horror TV show because it's not realistic enough. They hate comedy shows because every second doesn't need them into spasms of hilarity. People over the past couple years have become angry at any attempt of entertainment because this is a generation of people with high expectations and no ability to let themselves have fun.

Sure some people aren't into Key and Peele's type of humor, but to get so whiny and angry that a show doesn't fit your personal comedic need is ridiculous. There's other shows out there. It gets really ridiculous when they demand the people that like this show to justify why they like it so much. People are allowed different opinions and comedy is subjective. If it makes you laugh, it's funny to you, if it doesn't make you laugh it's not funny to you. Lol

A lot of eople take themselves too seriously these days and believe they're opinions negate everyone else's.

Completely agree. It just seems now most people just watch stuff only to pick it apart or to create some god awful meme all in some shallow pursuit for e-validation.

A boat that floats on water can also sink in it.
