The Five blatantly uses sex appeal to lure in viewers

I've noticed that The Five always has at least 1 or 2 women on the show and the women are always attractive. The women are always wearing skirts and at least one of them is always at one of the ends of the table so viewers get a good view of her legs from the side.

Its hardly just the Five. Red Eye has always done that, and Outnumbered is far more obvious about it.

In the kingdom of the blind, you're the village idiot.

You're saying that like it's a bad thing. I watch Fox News because I can't stand the mainstream liberal media. All of the hot chicks on Fox are just a bonus.

lucid-50026,

It's not necessarily a bad thing. The Five isn't really meant to be a serious show to begin with since it's all just laid-back commentary.

But I'm sure that the people on the show would like to be taken at least somewhat seriously and using such blatant sex appeal makes it that much harder for them to get even that small shred of credibility. I'm sure all the women who appear on The Five would like to be seen primarily as smart people with important things to say rather than just sexy bodies. Adding blatant sex appeal just makes it seem like they don't have confidence in the value of what they have to say.

Adding blatant sex appeal makes it seem like Fox News doesn't take itself completely seriously. It makes it seem like they feel that their particular slant to news reporting and commentary won't be accepted by viewers without making it more visually appealing. It makes it seem like Fox News is most concerned with doing whatever it can to get the most viewers. Fox News will have to stop resorting to sex appeal if it wants to be taken seriously by more people.

Perhaps conservative/libertarian women have not been shamed by feminists into hiding their hot bodies?
