I agree. Clearly, as you say, it was a device to get the story told twice, but it could have been handled better. For example, tell the police one story and reveal other story to someone else. He would not have revealed that to a copper when murderer may have been on the cards.

Totally agree. The only point that let the film down.

I'm not sure whether "the taped confession" as such would have been allowed to be entered into evidence, as the proper processes hadn't been followed through. It would be interesting getting a legal opinion.🐭🐭
