Who enjoyed this more than Guardians of the Galaxy?

I did.

Don't get me wrong, GOTG is a fun film that I like but Thor: TDW delivered more for me. Take away the sometimes forced humor and it's a near perfect sequel. Events depicted are more thrilling and deliver far more emotion than did GOTG. There are less logic flaws and, frankly, better characters at this point in the Thor franchise.

Sif and the Warriors Three weren't exactly fleshed out but neither are Gamora or Drax but the Asgardians kicked more ass. Gamora was dragged around like a powerless little girl at the prison and Drax was slapped around like a weak child by Ronan.

In terms of main and supporting characters, it doesn't get any better than Loki. Thor outclasses Star Lord and using Jane to ground the film adds extra texture.

The main bad guys are both ominous but one dimensional. Kurse was the wildcard added threat and led to far better action sequences in TTDW. GOTG's pod chase and the attack on and escape from Asgard are about equal. Everything else favors TTDW.

The visuals are equally impressive. TTDW should have received an Oscar nomination and I hope GOTG does.

Well, I definitely did.

I found Thor 2 - my favourite phase 2 film so far - had perhaps a bit too much humor but Guardians had WAY too much of it. The dance at the end was cringe-worthy. I am actually extremely surprised at how much I enjoyed Guardians in the cinema but when trying to rewatch it at home I couldn't go through it. This is the only Marvel film I have zero wish to watch ever again. The others at least clearly connect with MCU that I've grown to love.

And I agree, I think Ronan is not much better than Malekith. Both are as generic as it gets. But I liked Malekith's design better.

On the other hand, I understand why others don't feel the same. I'm just happy that even with TDW being the lowest point of phase 2 in general, it still was profitable, generally well received and we're getting a sequel.

RAGNARÖK!

I personally loved Thor: The Dark World, it was my favorite CBM of 2013, but no way is it better than Guardians of the Galaxy.

Ron *beep* Swanson is the greatest thing that ever happened to television.

I personally liked this better than GOTG, but then I'm biased when it comes to the Thor films 😀

GOTG was also a really good film, very fun to watch. That surprised me as I was expecting it to flop.

Agree completely. I really enjoyed GOTG and was actually surprised by how good it was but personally I still like Thor: The Dark World much better. It's the most fun I've had out of all the Phase 2 films and Hemsworth and Hiddleston really elevate this film for me.

TTDW is a great film and I enjoyed it much more than GOTG. That being said GOTG is a damn fine film.

GOTG is good but Thor is just a better lead character in a better cosmic setting. Better structure and less silly "Star Wars cantina" stuff.

Well i like both films. But i would probably say ive watch GOTG a lot more. So probably would say GOTG. But This is fun too. In fact i like most of the Marvel Studio Movies.

All Guardians brought to the table was "fun". That's not bad but it does make it a one note movie.
