THOR is my favorite Superhero movie.. Dark World doesn't disappoint

I loved the first movie. Fish out of water story where 99% of the movie he doesn't even have his powers. So many funny quotes, reaction shots, and buildup. From what I saw of the Dark World trailers, it looked like it was just going to be a battle royale crapfest where the CGI takes the day. And was I WRONG!! The comedy was all there, the funny scenes, the big fight finale with all the transporting around... I just wish the soundtrack would have been more memorable. Overall 9/10

I actually love the soundtrack to this movie and bought it right away. I was a big fan of Patrick Doyle but although regal and nuanced it didn't quite capture the power of Thor in my opinion. Tyler's score does exactly that. Loki's theme is great as well. The track "Into Eternity" is absolutely sublime.

Really? I just saw it and I feel like I wasted two hours of my life.

It was NOT funny. I didn't laugh once.

It was also very predictable. I felt NO tension and was surprised by nothing.

I think I might have liked it if I were twelve though.

Just out of curiousity... what do you think of all the other Marvel-movies then?

Why even ask? If you don't love ALL the MCU movies then you simply don't like cinema in general and are probably a complete moron. It actually is a good way to judge a person. How they react to Marvel movies.

Don't know if it's my favorite, but it is top three for sure. A fantastic movie. They did a great job. Who the hell is that Collector dude? Never heard or read about him in the Marvel Universe.

It's in my top five but that's a tough list to crack.

I'd put the Batman trilogy, Watchmen, and V for Vendetta at the top of my list, but I didn't think this movie was bad. I think it's the third best Marvel film behind Avengers and IM1.

Well...there the camp that liked this aspect of the first movie. I'm in the other camp . You're seeing all these OTHER heroes like X-Men, Spiderman, Hulk, and Fantastic Four get movie adaptations. You may have followed those comics from time to time, but you're REALLY waiting for the one you collected, THOR!

So you go see it, and wow, Asgard, Loki, the Frost Giants (a miniaturized version of them), the Destroyer. Oh, man, Thor, Loki, Sif, and The Warriors Three go to Jotunheim to battle the mini-Frost Giants and their monsters! Then Odin comes, strips Thor of his powers, and banishes him to earth. Okay, surely they realized that the first half hour was what people came to see? And this earth part is going to be a brief comedy detour? It would go on for another 60 minutes...

Were there some funny moments? Sure. But get back to Thor already...it was the exact opposite of Dark World. Dark World got the earth parts out of the way in 3-4 minutes segments? In the 2011 movie, it was the more interesting Asgard scenes that got only 3-4 minutes! They'd thow in a scene of Loki making a deal with King Lafie and ruling Asgard as the interim king.

Thor goes to the SHIELD research outpost to retrieve Mjolnir. By this point you've already had enough of this Chris Hemsworth comedy that was playing before you, and they tease that Thor is returning. Hemsworth grabs the hammer and nothing happens. Nothing .

I guess it goes on for another 25 minutes or so before the Destroyer, Sif, and the Warrior's Three beam down to earth, and now we're cookin'. He gets the hammer, he's Thor again. By this time...we're 90 minutes in, and there's only enough time for a super quick fight with Destroyer and Loki.

To this day, when I watch that disc, I can only go up to the first half hour, then I skip to the Destroyer landing on earth. It was a Chris Hemsworth comedy that happened to have a cameo from Thor!

Not one single person in their right mind would be disappointed in a sequel that turned out this good.

It sure delivered what I wanted to see and truly surprised me with that ending. Usually I see everything coming but I never saw that...
