Wondered if the father was Billy Bob Thornton

Looked similar enough but didn't sound similar. Looked it up after the film and the actor was the British born Callum Keith Rennie, a name that rung a bell but didn't have any specific memories of seeing him in any films, he managed to sound credibly American, although I'm not American myself so I can't tell if he had the Montana accent right.

For all his talking he sounded okay. His growing up in Canada probably helps. I knew quite a few Montanians living next to them in Alberta and most don't have much accent. Only the Scandinavian ones maybe a bit. He was in Californication too.
