What I love about this version of Sinbad is ...

... its unpretentiousness.

The characters are lovable in their flaws,
and there is a tongue-in-cheek strain throughout the episodes.

In the one with the changeling witch aboard,
when what's inside the hold of the ship was battling against the door to get out,
Rina after being reassured by its handler that it's harmless remarked deadpan :

" Whatever, but it doesn't sound very friendly."

What a shame that there won't be a season 2 ...

It is a shame it was canceled-it seems like there was so much setup to keep going and the characters were just starting to be developed. And there are so many stories about Sinbad the Sailor-it's not like they would ever lack for material. Always the way-good shows get cancelled before they even get a chance.

I totally agree. Why do all the intelligent, quirky shows never get a chance to find their audience?
