What I liked about this show *spoilers*

Just finished watching Season 1. While the concept of the show is a bit formulaic and the episodes are trapped by the feel of a limited budget epic (which needs to have a much larger budget to feel authentic), the individual storylines could be rather intriguing. For instance, I liked the fact that Sinbad begins as a petty thief who retains some of his roguishness until he is forced to adopt an elevated leadership role. In fact, had they drawn this out even more, the show could have had more appeal.

I liked that there was enough legitimate suspense in the episodes to keep them interesting. I didn't know how some of them would be concluded until well into the episode, such as the one with Kuji, or the episode which seemed to be a knockoff of "The Brotherhood of the Wolf". I also felt that the show really only scratched the surface of the individual plots that could be told. Where's Sinbad going to be turning up next? What new adventure could he experience?

I liked the large storyline arc, at least until - spoilers again - Naveen Andrew's character is killed.. I don't think that they exploited the story of Sinbad's escaping enough, and it should have been spread throughout the entire season.

Lastly, the settings were beautiful, and it was refreshing to see a series filmed in the locations that it was. I also thought that some of the special effects were quite good for a show of this size.

Overall, not must-see-TV by any means, but how many shows really are?

~After enjoying that movie, I figured I'd drop by IMDB to read about all of its problems.
