Why don't they just make this a straight up Horror Movie.
All the Toy Story fans are very very grown up now. The first one was over 20 years ago.
Just go absurd with it into different genres and let the rating go to PG-13 or even R.

Because it's still a kid franchise and Disney doesn't go that dark even with PG-13.
shareKids like Cars and Nemo and Incredibles and Star Wars and Marvel WAAY more
shareNo, my kid doesn't like Cars and Star Wars at all. Marvel yes, but only the Avengers movies because he can say their names everytime a character appears.
But Toy Story, he loves them all. He watches 1-3 pretty religiously. He even imagined the 4th movie himself even before Disney announced to make one. Somekind of a fan fiction if you must. (And he revised / retconned it to add Forky after he saw the actual Toy Story 4 in theater. How a child's mind works is wonderful.)
So, no. Toy Story is pretty much still a kids franchise. And making it straight up horror would scar their souls forever lol.
you want them to turn a kid movie into a Horror Movie? lol
share1. The kids that started the Toy Story popularity in 1995 to 1996 are all adults now.
2. Toy Story 3 was horrifying enough and deliberately depressing enough (but overdone in both) to qualify as at least kinda messed up.... and too much serious overhead for a kids movie. They just see toys crying and tortured.
Even Pixar says they dont specifically make kids movies.
You believe kids don't watch movies from years ago? It's a franchise with a winning formula!
shareBecause a lot of people who watched it as teenagers in 1995 are now taking their own kids to see it.
