geography as a factor of popularity

Nisos was more popular and critically acclaimed than "I Love Karditsa" and "Nisos 2" is as it seems more popular and better regarded than "Larisa Confidential". My question is that given that those movies are in many ways similar and both as well as their "ancestors" included a cast of very well-known contemporary Greek actors, the preponderance in popularity of Nisos 1 & 2 over the films located in Thessaly probably has also to do with the fact that the island of Cyclades is a more catchy location for Greeks and foreigners alike than the plain of Thessaly. Do you agree or you think this factor is irrelevant?

Having seen all three movies you mentioned, I find Nisos much better than Larissa Confidential and somewhat better than I love Karditsa. I don't believe that geography plays such a big part in the popularity of the film, but I have to admit that the island setting is somewhat more attractive to the movie goers.
