Thank Heavens

I turned on the TV last night to find this was going to play on Lifetime. I am so impressed with it and it made me tear up a couple of times. It just makes me love JK Rowling even more. And Poppy Montgomery did do a great job. These books are my childhood. I've read them thousands of times. To actually see JK Rowling's life like this, even if it isn't that accurate, is amazing. I absolutely loved it and can't wait for them to play it again. I wish this movie was done a bit better so it could go to theatres. Everyone needs to know her story.

Come down and waste away with me.

Having read a reputedly reliable biography, this movie is pretty much accurate on the main events in Jo Rowling's life, although like any low-budget movie made for TV, they had to take certain liberties, compress things, and give a bit more poetic licence to some things.

Try to get hold of Sean Smith's biography on JK, it's a really compelling read, and the movie pretty much echoes the key points in the book fairly accurately.

Just for the record, I'm female...
