Yngwie - Pre-Metal vs Power Metal editing

Pre-metal episode, when Sam Dunn goes to talk with Yngwie, we see him get off the plane in Miami, picked up by Yngwie, brought to what I'd think is Yngwie's home, we see them enter the house, and the cut goes to them sitting and talking.

Power Metal episode, Dunn goes to Bologna to meet with Yngwie. They end up meeting in the lobby of a hotel, they go and sit down... and it's the SAME scene as the interview in Miami, same chair, same background, same half-glass of whatever Yngwie's drinking.

If this ever goes to DVD, I'd like to hear commentary from Dunn about what happened in Miami that he didn't get to use any interview footage from there.

Great episode - with plenty of arguable points like in the others - but one thing that stood out to me was when they talked about Accept. I always hear plenty of Bon Scott in Udo's voice, but we've STILL had no mention of AC/DC whatsoever.

The commercial for next week's Prog Metal episode said it's the "season" finale. I hope this means the other branches not aired get their own episodes next year.

Yeah, I noticed that with Malmsteen's segment. Kind of surprised they edited it that way.

Anybody else find it mildly amusing that Sam went to interview Yngwie while wearing a Van Halen t-shirt? It's kind of like interviewing Derrek Jeter while wearing a Nomar Garciaparra jersey.

What I find more interesting is how he goes all over the world to interview all these legendary musicians, and all we get to hear is about 30 seconds from each interview.

True. I loved the series, but it could have been even better had they let people talk more. You get the impression some of the interviews are probably about ten minutes long, but 9 minutes are cut in the editing. 30 seconds appear in one episode and then 30 more in another.
The thing is, it gets very interesting when he actually lets someone have more space within one episode, like Ricki Rockett from Poison. That I did not expect.

But we do get to see Sam in the backseat of a car a lot.

It is. There's only so much you can do with limited time. But you can't argue with the final result
